This course will provide you with the knowledge to be able to interpret and apply the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) to shipments of lithium batteries intended for transport by air.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This course is for you if you are a shipper or freight forwarder with work that involves preparing or handling lithium batteries (CASA group F, IATA categories 1 and 3) and you require a dangerous goods certificate for the first time. If you have let your previous qualification lapse, we recommend you undertake our online training course instead.

International and Australian dangerous goods Codes, regulations and legislation
General philosophy on the carriage of dangerous goods
Hazard classes, divisions and packing groups of dangerous goods
Identification of dangerous goods including allocation of proper shipping names and N.O.S. items
Forbidden dangerous goods
Hidden dangerous goods
Dangerous goods carried by passengers and crew
Limited and excepted quantity provisions
State and operator variations
How to pack dangerous goods safely
Marking and labeling of packages
Completion of shipper’s declaration and air waybill
Competent authority approvals and exemptions
You will be provided with classroom assignments and workbook exercises to reinforce the knowledge gained.
WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE
The successful completion of the assessment at the end of the course will result in a qualification approved by Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and IATA.
