IMDG ‘Recurrent’ Compliance Training For Shore-Based Personnel

Purpose of the Course

This 2-day course is designed to provide the students with the knowledge of interpreting and applying the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG) to shipments of dangerous goods and hazardous materials.

Students are provided with practical exercises, workbook exercises and assessments for the successful achievement of this dangerous goods training course in Australia.

Course Content

Upon successful completion of the two day Sea Freight course. An IMDG Accredited certificate will be issued. Upon completion of the dangerous Goods Course, qualified personnel will be able to:

  • Comprehend Dangerous Goods terminology and have an understanding of the general philosophy on carriage of dangerous goods.
  • Understand the classes, divisions and packing groups of Dangerous Goods
  • Completion of the Maritime Dangerous Goods Declaration for sea transport.
  • Background and general introduction to international agreements, Australian dangerous goods codes and regulations
  • Identification of Dangerous Goods including allocation of proper shipping names and N.O.S. items
  • Shippers responsibilities.
  • Operators responsibilities.
  • Mark and label packages correctly.
  • Understand Stowage & Segregation Requirements and be familiar with Fumigated Units.
